In Memory: Erwin Zarestky

Erwin K. Zarestky, 83, of Council Bluffs, died December 23 at Risen Son Christian Village.

He was born in Neola on October 9, 1917, to Fritz and Anna (Prochaska) Zarestky.

He was a farmer and cattle feeder in the Neola and Minden area and was a member of the Minden United Church of Christ.

He had been a resident of Risen Son for the past 2 1/2 years.

Mr. Zarestky and his wife, Alice (Carlson), had been married 61 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Leon of Neola and Jerel and wife, Paula, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; a brother, Arnold, and wife, Janice, of Omaha; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation with the family was held Tuesday at Belford-O'Neill Hillside Mortuary in Neola.

Funeral was held Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial was in the Neola Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the Minden United Church of Christ Women's Fellowship or Hospice Preferred Choice.
