In Memory: Mary L. Jones

Funeral for Mary Louise Jones, 86, of Harlan was held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Jones died February 11 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born in McClelland. She graduated in 1931 from St. Francis High and in 1934 from Mercy School of Nursing, both in Council Bluffs. As a registered nurse, she worked for Mercy Hospital and Iowa School for the Deaf. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Jones and her husband, Everett R., were married 55 years. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilynn Leggio and husband, Joe, and Jeannie Olson and husband, Roger, all of Council Bluffs; a son, Richard and wife, Christine, of Harlan; three sisters, Charlotte Ring of Neola, Clara McCauley of Warren, Michigan, and Margaret Soar and husband, Charles, of Council Bluffs and one brother, Conrad "Cooney" Torneten of Council Bluffs.

The rosary was recited at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan. A wake service was held Monday evening at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
