In Memory: Maxine Atkins

Maxine Atkins, 82, died January 25 at an Omaha hospital. She was born in Neola.

She was a retired schoolteacher of over 40 years. She began teaching in 1938 at a country school east of Neola on old Highway 64. Later she taught at Macedonia, Laurens and Storm Lake before retiring 20 years ago.

Survivors include a sister, Geraldine Brich of Neola and 11 nieces and nephews, a dear friend, Lois Olson and her three sons.
