In Memory: Albert H. Reeves
(October 9, 1920 - April 24, 2000)

Funeral for Albert H. Reeves, 79, of Council Bluffs was held Friday at 10 A.M. at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Stuck officiating.

Mr. Reeves died April 24 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a longtime maintenance worker for Council Bluffs Schools and was a residential contractor for many years. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 5 and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 737.

Mr. Reeves and his wife, Frances, were married 56 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Dale of Haver, Montana, and William and wife, Deonne, of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Mary Grudle and husband, Dennis, of Persia; two sisters, Thema Nichols of Missouri Valley and Ruby Dodson of Laurens; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post No. 737 and an U.S. Navy honor guard.
