In Memory: Carl Lamp

Carl Fredie Lamp, 89, died Saturday, February 26, 2000 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Carl was born June 15, 1910 at Avoca, Iowa. He was the son of Claus and Clara Hansen Lamp was one of seven children in the family. He completed the eighth grade in school.

Carl farmed until 1948 in the Avoca and Harlan areas. He worked for a number of years at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, and then became a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid bowler. He was raised in the Lutheran Church.

Carl was preceded in death by three brothers; Herman, Arthur and an infant brother and three sisters; Emma, Carrie and Laura.

Survivors include a nephew Larry Lamp and his wife Jane and a niece, Norma Jean Juhl, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held Tuesday, February 29 at the Knutson Funeral Chapel in Avoca, Iowa with Rev. Will Bynagte officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
