In Memory: Quincy D. Stevens

Quincy Delaine Stevens, 85, of Persia died October 5 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

He was born in Collins and graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in business. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was general manager for American Mutual Life Insurance in Council Bluffs, retiring in 1968.

Mr. Stevens and his wife, Virginia Lee, were married 60 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, DeAnn Tuttle and husband, David, of Persia and LaCinda E. Geer, and husband, Garry, of Laurel, Nebraska; three sisters, Arveda Larson of Arizona, Donna O'Neal of Tacoma, Washington, and Nadine Bogard of Racine, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services was held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery at Collins with the Rev. Garry Geer II and the Rev. Wayne Bahr officiating.

McCurdy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
