Ross J. Russell (1937-2009)

Ross James Russell, age 71, longtime Council Bluffs business owner, passed away April 6, 2009, at his home with his family by his side.

Ross was born June 26, 1937, in Council Bluffs, to R.C. (Jim) Russell and Ruth M. (Rosenblatt) Russell. Ross graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and married Trudy Adams on January 3, 1964. Ross served in the 34th division of the Iowa National Guards and has owned and operated Credit Bureau of Council Bluffs, now called Factual Data-Midwest, for many years. He was a longtime member of the Duncan's Cafe Breakfast Club.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Trudy; daughters, Debbie Kadlec (Mrs. K.) and husband James, all of Neola, Iowa, Michelle Sullivan and husband Mike, of Omaha, Neb., Aly Russell, Heather Russell-Schroeder and husband Randall, all of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren, Joseph Lee and wife Sherri, Jacob Lee and wife Sara, Jessica Lee, Nichole Kadlec, Antoine Kadlec, Kurtis Kadlec, Annie Sullivan, Ashley Sullivan, Brenna Cook, Maiah Cook, RJ Cook, James Schroeder, Ross Schroeder, Adam Schroeder; four great grandchildren, Greta Lee, Miles Lee, Destiny Kadlec, Mimi Fraire; sister, Marcia Donnan and husband Jerry, of Fort Collins, Colo.; brother, Jerry Russell and wife Linda, of Rawlins, Wyo.

Visitation, Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., followed by Rosary Recitation at 7 p.m., at St. Patrick's Church, Neola. Funeral services, Thursday, 10 a.m., also at the church.

Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Neola. Military honors conducted by the Neola American Legion Post #330. Luncheon will follow at Parish Hall. Due to Ross's passing during Holy Week, a Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, 10 a.m., also at St. Patrick's Church. All are invited to attend.

Family has suggested memorials to St. Patrick's
Church and St. Jude's Cancer Hospital.
