Harry C. Langin

Harry C. Langin, age 78, formerly of Neola, Iowa, passed away April 5, 2009, in Omaha.

He was born in Council Bluffs on April 16, 1930, to Harry C. and Margaret A. (Liddell) Langin, and was a 1948, graduate from St. Joseph High in Neola. Harry married Barbara A. (McCune) on June 18, 1955. To this union five children were born. Harry lived in Neola all his life and served in the Iowa National Guard for 22 years. He is a lifetime member of the 34th Division (Red Bull) Association. Harry worked at Vickers Inc., for 42 years, starting at the age of 18 at Omaha Production then advancing through Vickers Inc. He loved to run 10K races and back pack in Colorado.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara; sons, Kevin and wife Gina all of Omaha, Daniel and wife Jyoti of Overland Park, Kan., Patrick and wife Kathy of Las Vegas, James Langin of Prairie Village, Kan.; daughter, Monica Langin of Urbandale, Iowa; seven grandchildren; sisters, Leila West of Spokane, Wash., Frances Wunder of Normal, Ill.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. at Cutler-Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, further visitation Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Rosary Recitation at 7 p.m. at St. Patricks Church, Neola.

Funeral Mass Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. also at St. Patricks Church, Neola. Visitation prior to service from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment with military rites tendered by the Neola American Legion Post #330 at St. Patricks Cemetery.

Family has suggested memorials to Neola Fire and Rescue and the church. Luncheon will follow in St. Patricks Hall.
