Wilbur L. "Web" Knauss, age 82, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 20, 2009, at his home.

Web was born November 19, 1926, in Logan, Iowa, to the late Sam and Fern (Goodman) Knauss. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Web married Anita Steinwart on February 13, 1954, in Logan and to this union three children were born. Web was a welder for 40 years and loved his gardening. He will be greatly missed by many. Web was an avid bowler being inducted into the Omaha Bowling Hall of Fame in 1991 and Council Bluffs Bowling Hall of Fame in 1993. Web managed many bowling alleys.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Knauss in 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita Knauss; sons, Richard (Deanna) Knauss, and James Knauss, all of Council Bluffs; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Private graveside service with military honors tendered by American Legion Post #2, Wednesday, in Fairview Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
