In Memory: Richard Lefeber

Funeral Mass for Richard Lefeber, 67, of Portsmouth was held at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Portsmouth.

Mr. Lefeber died January 7 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born in Portsmouth and graduated in 1950 from St. Mary's High School. He served in the military during the Korean War and was a farmer. He was a member of the Portsmouth Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Lefeber and his wife, Stella, were married 43 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Sandy Schmitz of Ankeny, Connie Miskell and husband, Eric, of Ottawa, Illinois, Cheri Snyder and husband, Tom, of Underwood and Janet Croghan and husband, Bob, of Portsmouth; two sons, Dean and wife, Cindy, of Harlan and Jeff and wife, Mary, of Neola; two sisters, Margie Gorden and husband, Ray, of Arion and Lavonne Jensen and husband, Paul, of Council Bluffs; three brothers, Russell and wife, Dorothy, of Harlan, Gene and wife, Jo Ann, of Portsmouth and Ernie of Harlan and 16 grandchildren.

A wake service was held at the church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Portsmouth.
