Memory: Sharon J. Martinson
(December 6, 1948 - June 19, 2001)

Funeral for Sharon J. Martinson, 52, of West Des Moines was held Saturday at 2 P.M. at the First Christian Church in West Des Moines.

Mrs. Martinson died June 19 at her home.

She was born in Harlan and lived in Harlan and Council Bluffs, before moving to West Des Moines 28 years ago. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1967. She worked the past 10 years for Farm Bureau Insurance in West Des Moines and previously worked for Fawn of West Des Moines. She was a member of the First Christian Church in West Des Moines.

Mrs. Martinson and her husband, Paul, were married 30 years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Jennifer Upmeyer and Krista Martinson, both of Warrington, Virginia; her parents, Ottis and Iva Gearhart, of Council Bluffs; five sisters, Sally Bugge, Linda Watson and Mary Fajman, all of Council Bluffs, Shirley Jensen of Muskogge, Oklahoma and Carolyn Cox of Arvada, Colorado; four brothers, Daryl Gearhart and Bill Gearhart, both of Council Bluffs, Roger Gearhart of Altoona and Jim Gearhart of Treynor; and one granddaughter.

Visitation with the family was held at McLarens Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines.
