In Memory: Merlyn A. Ross

Funeral for Merlyn A. Ross, 84, of Council Bluff's was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Meyer Woodring Funeral Home with Elder Marvin Darrington officiating. Mr. Ross died June 22 at Risen Son Christian Village.

He was born in Bentley and graduated from Underwood High School. He was a farmer and retired in 1980.

He was a member of the Underwood Memorial Building Association, a former Underwood School Board member, a former 41I leader and a former Nebraska Iowa Milk Association Board member.

He and his wife, Zeda (Carlsen), were married for 61 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Marlene Thomas and husband, Glendon, of Kingston, Tennessee, and Regene Ross of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; three sons, Reggie and wife, Phyllis, of Ankeny, Mark and wife, Ellen, of Underwood and Greg and wife, Rhonda, of Minden; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Woodring Funeral Home. Cremation followed the service with a private family burial.

Memorials may be offered to the Underwood Memorial Building Association.
