In Memory: Sean McMahon

Sean Michael McMahon, 25, was born on September 3, 1974 at Denison, Iowa. He was the son of Patrick and Shelley Shellmyer McMahon. The family moved to Minders in 1980.

Sean graduated from Tri Center High School with the Class of 1993. He participated in sports, playing both football and baseball. Sean enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He operated a lawn service and worked in construction.

Sean was united in marriage to Gretchen King. They were the parents of two sons; Austin and Trevor.

Sean passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska from injuries he suffered in a car accident near Neola.

Survivors include his sons, Austin and Trevor McMahon, of Missouri Valley, his parents, Patrick and Shelley McMahon of Minden, his paternal grandfather, Gerald McMahon of Manilla and his maternal grandparents, Keith and Mary Shellmyer of West Bend, Iowa.

Services were held Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. at the Minden United Church of Christ in Minden, Iowa. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery.

Knutson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
