In memory: J. Wm. "Willie" Witt
(April 19, 1918 - May 2, 2001)

Julius William Witt, 83, of Honey Creek died May 2 at his home.

He was born near Missouri Valley, attended school in Boomer Township and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He farmed in Boomer Township for 38 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Missouri Valley.

Mr. Witt and his wife, Estella, were married 54 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, two brothers, Alvin and Leonard.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Beverly Dollen and husband, LeRoy, of Minden, Barbara Heikes and husband, Tim, of Dakota City, Nebraska, and Becky Ring and husband, Tom, and Bonnie Ausdemore and husband, Marion, all of Neola; a son; Brian, and wife, Dawn, of Honey Creek; a sister, Dorothy Wohlers, of Missouri Valley; and daughter in law Bonnie Sorensen of Honey Creek; 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Friday at Meyer Woodring Funeral Home with a prayer service.

Funeral was held Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David R. Kuhnle of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial was in the Grange Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. John's Lutheran Church.
