In Memory: Sheryl L. Jorgensen

The funeral for Sheryl L. Jorgensen, 40, of Red Oak was held Friday at 1 P.M. at Cutler Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth M. Bentley of Midwestern Baptist Church in Omaha officiating.

She died December 31 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha following an auto accident. Her daughter, Heather, also died in the accident.

She was born June 7, 1961, in Council Bluffs to Ralph and Mary (Daughterty) Mericle. She previously lived in Council Bluffs and Treynor, moving to Red Oak four years ago. She was a 1979 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She worked in the accounts payable department of Oakland Foods in Oakland for the fast four years. She was a member of Midwestern Baptist Church in Omaha.

Mrs. Jorgensen and her husband, Jeff, were married 13 years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one son, Colton Jorgensen, or Red Oak; stepdaughter, Andrea Jorgensen, of Omaha; mother, Mary Mericle, of Council Bluffs; one brother, Ralph Eugene Mericle, and wife, Debra, of Council Bluffs.

Visitation with the family was held Thursday at the funeral Home. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Heather M. Jorgensen Memorial Scholarship fund or Midwestern Baptist Church.
