In Memory: Edith Meadows

Edith Meadows, 83, died at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Sunday, August 5, 2001.

The daughter of Peter and Nettie (Mackland) Jessen, Edith spent her lifetime at Neola until moving to Longview five years ago. She graduated from Neola Public High School in 1935. Edith was a homemaker after previously being employed at the Blue & White Grocery in Neola. She and her husband Quinton Meadows were married 59 years before his death last April. Edith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Neola and the Neola unit of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Koob and her husband Sam of Council Bluffs and Corrine Minahan and her husband Mike of Neola; six grand children; three sisters, Grace Dideriksen and Ione Turner of Council Bluffs and Ilo Harman and her husband Francis of Neola; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Tuesday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of Neola Funeral was to be at 11 A.M. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Dean Sparr officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Neola Fire and Rescue or the Tri-Center Athletic Complex. Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
