In Memory: Robert D. Forrester, Sr.

The Funeral for Robert D. Forrester Sr., 80, of Treynor was held Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor with the Rev. Tim Koehn and the Rev. Ken Dohmen officiating.

Mr. Forrester died January 19 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital. He was born December 10, 1921, in rural Treynor to Henry and Ida (Clausen) Forrester. He lived in Treynor and Council Bluffs his entire life. He was a truck driver for Hinky Dinky Grocery for 30 years. He also farmed. He was member of Zion Congregational Church in Treynor, Council Bluffs Eagles Club, Warehousemen and Helpers of America Union No 554, and American Bowling Congress.

Mr. Forrester was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, on December 8, 1996.

Survivors include two daughter, Susan Withers of Villisca, Sandra Andersen and husband, Grant, of Omaha; two sons, Robert Jr. and wife, Jonell, of Treynor and Stanley and wife, Buffy, of Underwood; one sister, Macyl Brockman, of Council Bluffs; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Tuesday evening at Cutler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Zion Congregational Cemetery, followed by lunch at Zion Congregational Church.

Memorials may be offered to Treynor Fire & Rescue, Treynor Community Center, American Cancer Society or Zion Congregational Church.
