Obituary - The Daily Nonpareil - January 1975

Mrs. Sarah E. Sewing, 85, 269 Harrison Street, died Sunday at her home following a short illness. She was born at Underwood and was a lifelong resident in the Underwood and Council Bluffs communities. She was the widow of Thomas C. Sewing, a retired farmer, who died in 1968. Mrs. Sewing was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carol Butts and Mrs. Rosalie Tawzer, both of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Catherine Kreisel, of Malvern; two sons, Darold D. of Council Bluffs and Marvin T. of Shelby; three brothers, Dr. Amos W. Carlile of Manning, Dave A. Carlile of Underwood, and Ether A. Carlile of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Meyer Funeral Home. Almer W. Sheehy, executive minister of Council Bluffs District RLDS churches will officiate. Interment will be at Fisher Cemetery at Underwood. Memorials are suggested to either the Underwood RLDS or Council Bluffs RLDS Church.
