Thomas C. Sewing
(October 7, 1887 - July 21, 1968)

The Daily Nonpareil - July 1968:

21 July 1968 - Thomas C. Sewing, 80, 269 Harrison Street, died Sunday at a local hospital following a short illness. Born in Council Bluffs, he farmed in the Underwood-Council Bluffs area until his retirement in 1959, then moved into the city. He was a former board member of the Bentley School system and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. & Mrs. Sewing observed their 57th wedding anniversary in August 1967.
Survivors include: Widow, Sarah Eulalia; three daughters Mrs. Carol Butts and Mrs. Rosalie Tawzer, both of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Catherine Kreisel of Malvern; two sons, Donald D. of Council Bluffs and Marvin T. of Neola, three sisters, Mrs. Louise Grudle of Glenwood, Mrs. Mary McKeown of Harlan and Mrs. Harriet Slater of Kansas City, Mo; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Meyer Chapel. W. Hale Collins, elder of the RLDS, will officiate. Interment will be a Fisher Cemetery at Underwood.
