Memorial service for Betty Tess Lombardo, 73, of Council Bluffs will be Monday at 1 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Kirby of Queen of Apostles officiating.

She died Jan. 30 at Creighton University Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Plankington, S.D., to Ralph Chapin and Frances Wood. She lived in Council Bluffs for 72 years. She was a beautician. She worked at Casey's General Stores for 10 years before retiring in 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Durham and husband, Robert, of Council Bluffs and Lisa Daugherty and husband, Omar, of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Marty, and wife, Lee, of Hampton Falls, N.H.; two sisters, Shirley Deal and husband, Warren, of Topeka, Kan., and Alice Reid and husband, Robert, of Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, Otha Chapin, of Council Bluffs; aunt, Blanche Rouse, of Clearmount, Mo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be offered to Save Our Local Animal Shelter.
