The funeral for Wilbur Ralph O'Grady, 79, of Council Bluffs will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer- Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Tubbesing of United Church of Christ officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 2.
Mr. O'Grady died Jan. 30 in Omaha.
He was born May 2, 1923, in Omaha to Bernard O'Grady and Blanche Lininger O'Grady. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Cobia Lodge 631 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 737.
Mr. O'Grady was preceded in death by his brother, Jack O'Grady.
Survivors include his wife, Janice "Jan"; three daughters, Monte Kay O'Grady of Kansas City, Mo., Erin Sayer and husband, Steve, of Dunbar, Neb., and Kathleen "K. Dee" Kosmacek and husband, Tim, of Persia; two brothers, Bernard "Buck" and wife, Isabelle, of Council Bluffs and Mike of Las Vegas; two sisters, Eileen Luers of Council Bluffs and Kathleen Johnson of Arlington, Va.; two sister-in-laws, Sue O'Grady of Denver, Colo., and Lois O'Grady of Omaha; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be offered to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
