Edward C. Carroll 1863-1944

Edward C. Carroll, 78, retired bridge foreman of the Rock Island railroad, died Saturday at his home here.

Requiem high mass will be celebrated Tues
At 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic church, with the Rev V.D. Cashman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home until Monday evening when it will be taken to the Blust funeral home until the hour of the funeral.

Born August 2, 1863, in Ferdinand, Indiana, Carroll had been a resident of this city for 60 years. Two years ago he and his wife, the former Mary Donaldson of Walnut, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, having been married August 1, 1889.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Joe and Lawrence of Avoca; and four daughters: Mrs. Albert Trobough, Mrs. Leroy Von Vollen, and Mrs. Mark Levings all of Omaha, and Mrs. Glen Nelsen of San Diego, California.
