Avoca Veterinarian Dies

Funeral services for Dr. E.C. Wolff, 57, well known Avoca veterinarian and one time Republican candidate for State Secretary of Agriculture, will be held here Wednesday at 3 pm at the Chrisinger funeral home. Burial will be in the Avoca cemetery.

Dr. Wolff died late Sunday after a paralytic stroke suffered last Friday. He had been in poor health for several years.

Prominent in state Republican party circles, Dr. Wolff sought the GOP secretary of agriculture nomination in 1938 He was a member of the local Masonic order. He graduated from the Chicago School of Veterinarians in 1910, and had practiced here for some 30 years. He was a native of Shelby county.

Surviving are his widow, Ethel; one son, George of Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers, Hebert and John of Defiance; three sisters: Mrs. Minne Keevan of Harlan, Mrs. Florence Walters of Seattle, Washing, and Mrs. Gertrude Sanders of Long Beach, California.
