Ed Wise 1884-1947
Died Suddenly Thursday

Requiem high mass was held for Edward M. Wise, 61, at St. Mary’s church here Monday morning at 9:30 with the Rev. V.D. Cashman conducting the services.

Mr. Wise died at his home in Avoca suddenly about 6 o’clock Thursday evening. He has been ill for several months from a heart ailment.

Mr. Wise was born on May 24, 1884 in Pleasant township. He farmed for many years in the Shelby vicinity and his son, Joe, is now living on his farm near Shelby.

He is survived by his widow and six daughters, Mrs. Abel Allen and Mrs. Floyd Hayhurst of Walnut, Mrs. Norman Kohlscheen and Mrs. James Stevens of Avoca, Mrs. Leonard Klindt of Harlan and Mrs. Wilbur Brown of Shelby, nine grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bollig of Danbury, Mrs. P. J. Mannion of Miles city, Montanan, and one brother, Michael Wise of Avoca.

Mr. Wise was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s church. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery. Pall bearers were William Denning, John Burke, William Dea, Fred Whitman, William Hinz, and Venus Krieger.
