Mrs. Jens (Vrona Elizabeth Zobrist) Kolby 1905-1946

Funeral services for Mrs. Jens Kolby were held in the Methodist church in Hancock, Monday, January 14. The serves were conducted by Rev. M.A. Banker, pastor of the church, with burial in the Hancock cemetery.

Vrona Elizabeth Zobrist was born on a farm near Avoca, Iowa, June 15, 1905, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garerel Zobrist, and came to her rest at Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa, On January 12, 1946, at the age of 40 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

At the age of 15, she moved with her parents to Hancock, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Hancock High School. She became a member of the English Lutheran Church at Avoca, Iowa by confirmation. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid of the English Lutheran church and a member of the Ladies Aid of the Hancock Methodist church. She was member of the Rebecca Lodge No 32.

On August 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Jens Kolby. To this union was born one son, Thomas Larry.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, one son, Thomas, and three step-children, Mrs. Erna chambers, Mrs. Anna Allen, and Martin Kolby; one sister, Mrs. Harold Christensen of Galva, Iowa and one brother, Herman Zobrist of Adel, Iowa. One sister, Mary, preceded her in death. A host of nieces and nephews and friends will miss her. Among friends and family she was known as Aunt Vrona.
