Raymond LaVerne Russman 1919-1945

Funeral services for Raymond LaVerne Russman, 26, were held at the First Lutheran church in Avoca on Friday, October 5, with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services.

He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Russman and was born August 2, 1919, 6.5 miles southwest of Avoca and died at his parents’ home Tuesday, October 2.

Raymond was an invalid and for the past five or six years had been confined to a wheel chair. He attended the rural schools and also graduated from the Hancock high school in 1937.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ludgwig Roemer and Mrs. Alfred Paulsen of Avoca; two brothers, Edward and Elmer of Avoca and a nephew Darrel Russman.
