Mrs. Chris (Wilma Magdeline Trede) Thies 1897-1945

Wilma Magdeline Trede Thies, youngest child of John and Anna Trede, was born February 16, 1897, in Pleasant township, Pottawattamie county, Iowa. She passed away October 8, 1945 at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 22 days.

As a child Wilma enjoyed farm life with her parents and sisters. At an early age she was baptized and in 1912 confirmed into the Minden Llutheran Church. She attended and graduated from the rural school near her home, Minden High school and a two year normal course at Iowa State Teachrs College, Cedar Falls, Iowa. For several years she taught in the rural schools of this vicinity.

She was united in marriage to Chris J. Thies on September 16, 1929. They made their home on the this homestead which continued to be their home until the time of her passing. To this union were born two children, Thomas, who died in infancy and Ned at home. Included for a time in their family circle were a nephew and two nieces, Stanley, Lois and Jean Luchsinger.
