Mrs. George (Emma Wulf) Lippold Sr 1879-1945

Last rites for Mrs. George Lippold Sr. were held from the First Lutheran church in Avoca Saturday, October 27 with the Rev Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Lippold died at her home in Avoca on Tuesday, October 23 having reached the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

Mrs. Lippold, the daughter of Henry Wulf and his wife Julia Banditz was born on January 6, 1879 in Scott county, Iowa. She came with her parents to western Iowa when only a young girl.

She was married to George Lippold on February 19, 1896 and started farming six miles southwest of Avoca where they lived until moving to Avoca on May 19, 1942. Mr. Lippold died shortly after moving to Avoca on September 23, 1942.

Mrs. Lippold is survived by five sons: George, Fred and Dan of Avoca; Theodore of Taunton, Massachusetts; and Frank of Minden; six daughters: Laura, Mrs. Rudolph Bornholdt of Avoca; Ann, Mrs. Leonard Wohlhutter of Harlan; Mary, Mrs. Rudolph Willett of Hancock; Bessie, Mrs. Peter Trziciak of Council Bluffs; Emma, Mrs. Leroy Halloway of Council Bluffs; Margaret, Mrs. Russel Willett of White Plaines, Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Russmann of Avoca; Mrs. Fred Berge of Atlantic; one brother, Chris Wulf of Avoca; 14 grandchildren, and two great grand children.
