Henry Christopher Fahrenkrog 1879-1945

Funeral services for Henry Fahrenkrog 65 were held today (Thursday) from the Minden congregational church at 2 pm with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt officiating at the services. Interment was in the Minden cemetery.

Heinrich Christopher Fahrenkrog, a son of Heinrich Fahrenkrog and his wife, Kathrina Burmeister, was born on November 10, 1879 in Harrison County, near Minden, and died suddenly Monday evening, July 30, 1945 at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

He was received in Holy Baptism on March 11, 1883, by the Rev. Nolting in Minden and made confession of his faith in the rite of Confirmation on April 23, 1933 in the First Lutheran church of which church he was also a member.

Mr. Fahrenkrog spent his early youth in working about Minden on various farms, on February 10, 1903 he was married to Matilda Luecke and they began farming for themselves 3 miles north of Minden, which also continued to be their home until they retired from farming and moved to Avoca on December 2, 1928, where since they have resided.

Mr. Fahrenkrog leaves to mourn his death besides his widow, also a daughter, Hilda, Mrs. Chris Plautz of Avoca; a son, Frank on the home place in Minden; also two brothers: Frank of Avoca and John of Logan, and a sister, Clara Zolk of Persia.

There have preceded him in death two grandchildren, two brothers, Henry of Davenport, and William of Minden; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Greve of Logan and Metha Plagmann of Hancock as also several infant brothers and sisters.
