Nancy Sophia Ward 1874-1944

Nancy Sophia Ward, the second daughter of Lusander and Lucy Ward was born on August 22, 1874 at Winterset, Iowa and died at her home on February 22, 1944 at the age of sixty nine years and six months.

In 1883, Nancy moved with her parents to a farm two miles east of Avoca which has since been her home. At an early age she volunteered to serve under the China Inland Mission Board, but was rejected because of her youth and poor health. She held a very unique place as a Christian with all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Amy B. Altig living in Mexico and Leta of Avoca.
