Dies Suddenly Following a Heart Attack

Funeral services for William J. Bollig, 57, who died suddenly on Tuesday, will be held at St. Mary’s church Saturday at 9 am with the Rev. V.D. Cashman saying the Requiem mass.

Mr. Bollig died following a heart attack while assisting with threshing operations at the Pete Bombeck farm shortly after noon Tuesday.

He was a veteran of World War I and was wounded in action in the Battle of the Aisne Marne on July 19, 1918.

Mr. Bollig was born at Portsmouth, Iowa, June 24, 1886. On May 2, 1939, he was married to Mrs. Gertrude Wise, who survives him. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Mary Wise Bolling of Danbury, Iowa; four brothers, George Bolling and Joseph Bollig both of Danbury; Charles Bolling of Mapleton, Iowa; and Bernard Bolling of Hollywood, California; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Kueny of Van Horn, Iowa and Mrs. John Johnk of Wood River, Oregon.
