In Memory: Theil E. Nielsen

Theil E. Nielsen, 78, of Council Bluffs died January 23 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born April 25, 1923, in Silver City to Edmund and Eunice (Moore) Schroeder. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1937. She was a 1941 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, and she attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Danish Sisterhood and Jennie Edmundson Auxiliary.

Mrs. Nielsen and her husband Howard J. were married May 25, 1946.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Lisa K. Smith, of Council Bluffs; one son, Craig L., of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; one brother, Lynn “Bud” Schroeder, of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 7 to 8 P.M. at Cutler Chapel. The funeral was held Monday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. E.A. Hering officiating. The body was cremated following the service. Burial of ashes was held Wednesday at 1 P/M/ at Ridgewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. John Lutheran Church.
