Mrs. Gustav (Anna) Kohlscheen
March 27, 1877 - April 10, 1949

Last rites for Mrs. Gustav Kohlscheen were held from the First Lutheran church here Tuesday with the Rev Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services. Burial was in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Kohlscheen died at her farm home near Avoca suddenly last Sunday morning.

Anna Magdalena Kohlscheen, a daughter of William Kripke and his wife Christina Kohlscheen, was born in Oldenberg, Schleswig Holstein, Germany on March 27, 1877. She came to the United States in March of 1900 and made her home in Avoca with her Uncle Diederich Kohlscheen.

On November 19, 1914, she was married to Gustav Kohlscheen. Mr. and Mrs. Kohlscheen have lived on their farm southeast of Avoca since their marriage. Mrs. Kohlscheen was active in the affairs of the First Lutheran church until the time of her sudden death.

There remain to mourn her passing, her husband, an only daughter, Mrs. Orvie Fischer of Avoca, and four granddaughters. She is also survived by two brothers and five sisters. A daughter, Elsa, preceded her mother in death. Two brothers: Alfred and Hans Kohlscheen also preceded Mrs. Kohlscheen in death.
