Mrs. Fred J. (Mary A. Harder) Pittmann 1883-1946

Last rites for Mrs. Fred J. Pittmann who died at home here Wednesday, January 22, were held from the first Lutheran church in Avoca on Saturday, January 25, with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt officiating. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Pittmann was born the daughter of Charles Harder and his wife Margaretha Paulsen on November 20, 1883 63 years, 1 month, and 23 days old at the time of her death.

On February 17, 1904, she was married to Fred J. Pittmann. They farmed on the Pittmann home farm until about 19 years ago when they moved to Avoca to live.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Clarence Pittmann of Avoca; two grandchildren, Lorna and Marvin Pittmann of Avoca; a sister, Mrs. William N. Peters of Avoca; a brother, Louie Harder of Avoca.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant children, a sister, Ann Harder; and a brother, John Harder.

Casket bearers were William Langbehn, Carl Noller, August Hager, Chris Jacobsen, Henry H. Rock, and Chris Miller.
