In Memory: Millard Benedickt

The funeral mass for Millard Benedickt, 90, of Logan was held Friday at 10 A.M. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Logan with the Rev. Dan Kirby officiating.

Mr. Benedickt died February 10 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan. He was born February 17, 1911, near Dunlap to John and Mary (Millard) Benedickt. He graduated in 1930 from St. Joseph Catholic in Dunlap.

He lived with his wife in the Dunlap area until 1939 at which time they purchased their farm near Logan. For 25 years, he served as an Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) county Community committee member. Fifteen of those years were spent measuring grain bins and land areas. He was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Logan and active with the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Benedickt was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Shafer), on October 20, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Dollen of Persia and JoAnn Collins of Gravette, Arkansas; one son, John and wife, Sue, of Logan; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
