In Memory: Robert D. Forrester, Jr.

Robert D. “Bobby Dean” Forrester Jr., 56, of Treynor died February 1 at his home of cancer.

He was born May 28, 1945 in Council Bluffs to Robert and Irene (Mitchell) Forrester and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1963. He worked for Sutherland Lumber in Council Bluffs and as a self-employed contractor and farmer. He worked as an electrician for R.C. Laurie Co. in Phoenix, Arizona, while living in that area. He played and sang with several bands in Omaha, including the Buckinghams.

Mr. Forester was a member of Zion Congregational Church in Treynor.

He and his wife Jonell had been married for five years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Lisa Ehrhardt and husband, Brent, of Council Bluffs; a son Cory and wife, Shirleen, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; a stepdaughter, Carol Elrod and husband, Mike, of Ralston, Nebraska; three stepsons, Nick Rose and wife, Dianne, Larry Gordon and wife, Debbie, and Mitch Kellar and wife, Heather, all of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Susan Withers of Villisca and Sandra Andersen and husband, Grant, of Omaha; a brother Stanley and wife, Buffy, of Underwood; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening at Cutler Funeral Chapel.

Funeral was held Monday at Zion Congregational Church with the Rev. Tim Koehn, interim pastor, officiating.

Burial was at Zion Congregational Cemetery with a lunch following in the church hall.

Memorials may be offered to the Treynor Fire & Rescue or Zion Congregational Church.
