Short services were held Monday afternoon at the Jenks home in Avoca for Mrs. John Jenks, 90, pioneer Avoca resident, who died Friday in a Council Bluffs hospital.The Rev. John DeBerg was in charge of the funeral service with the body being shipped to Earlville, Illinois for burial.
Mrs. Jenks lived in Avoca for over 65 years. She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Florence Knutson of Evanston, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Eager of Earlville, Illnois, and a granddaughter.
Before his death her husband was associated with the Avoca State bank her for many years.
