Mrs. Edward (Eva Marie nee unknown) Ackart 1874-1946

Funeral services were held at the Rieck Funeral home in Walnut Sunday, August 25 for Mrs. Edward Ackart, 72, who died in an Atlantic nursing home on Friday, August 23. Burial was in the Walnut cemetery with Rev Ivan Bachtell pastor of the First Congregational church in Avoca in charge of the services.

Mrs. Eva Marie Ackart, wife of Edward Ackart, was born May 31, 1874 in Indiana. As a young woman she came to Walnut, Iowa. There she was married and lived for several years; then the family moved to a farm north of Walnut and later to an acreage north of Avoca. After the death of her husband on February 8, 1925, she moved to Avoca where most of the remaining days of her life were spent.

The deceased suffered a severe shock in the accidental death of her son, Theo. Clarence Ackart on July 10. This, coupled with physical conditions brought about her death in an Atlantic nursing home on Friday, August 23.

She is survived by two sons: Arnold of Avoca and Charles of Des Moines and nine grandchildren.
