James Edward Randall 1873-1948
This community was shocked to hear of the sudden death Monday of James Edward Randall, 74, at the home of his son, Murray in Avoca following a heart attack. Mr. Randall’s wife died last Thursday and her funeral services were held last Saturday.
James Edward Randall was born on August 1, 1873, on a farm south of Avoca. He was a son of Abel A. and Emma M. Randall. He was 74 years, 5 months, and 26 days old at the time of his passing.
He was married to Lula Robinson on October 9, 1895, and they observed their golden Wedding anniversary two years ago. He was a retired farmer and custodian of the Avoca schools for over 13 years.
He is survived by five sons: Murray, Wallace, Bernard, Thornton, Richard and five daughters: Mrs. Kathleen Gross, Mrs. Helen Bresee, Mrs. Edith Messerschmidt, Mrs. Laura Henderson, and Mrs. Marian Hickman. He is also survived by a sister, Miss Effie Randall of Avoca, 20 grandchildren and two great grand children.
