Mrs. Edward (Lulu Robinson) Randall 1873-1948

Mrs. Edward Randall passed away at her home in Avoca Thursday morning, January 22, 1948, after several months of failing health. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24 at 2 pm at the Blust Berthusen Funeral Home with the Reverend A. J. Goodson, pastor of the First congregational Church in charge. Burial was at Graceland cemetery.

Lula Robinson, youngest daughter of George and Virginia Robinson, was born February 19, 1873, on a farm a short distance east of Avoca, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 74 years, 11, months, and three days. Her parents moved to Avoca when she was about eight years old. She attended grade and high school here and graduated with the Class of 1891.

On October 9, 1895, she was married to J. Edward Randall and they lived on a farm two miles south of town until 1927 when they moved to Avoca where they since resided. On October 9, 1945, they observed their Golden Anniversary. Mrs. Randall was a member of the First congregational Church here since girlhood and faithfully attended its services whenever it was possible for her to do so.

Survivors besides her husband are five daughters: Mrs. Frank Gross, Mrs. Jess Bresee, Mrs. Lloyd Henderson, and Mrs. Art Hickman, all of Avoca, and mrs. Herman Messerschmidt of Shelby’ five sons: Murray, Wallace, Thornton, and Richard all of Avoca, and Bernard of Waterloo, Nebraska; twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
