William Thomas Jones 1899-1946

Funeral services for William Thomas Jones, 47, were held from the Bust-Berthusen funeral home in Avoca Sunday, March 23 at 3 pm with Rev John M. deBerg officiating.

Mr. Jones died suddenly from a heart attack at the home of Joe Wise near Shelby on Thursday March 20. He had been employed there for the past several years.

William Thomas Jones, son of Albert and Nola Jones, was born in Avoca on October 11, 1899. He spent his entire life in this community.

He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, Howard of Shelby’ four sisters; Mrs. Lottie Bamsey of Harlan, Mrs. Della Bambsey, Mrs. Hazel Kreiger and Mrs. Ila Rihner all of Avoca; a half-brother, Rihner all of Avoca; a half-brother, Roy Fry of California; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel Briggs and Mrs. Jennie Avery both of Avoca. His father and mother preceded him in death.

Casket bearers were Herbert Schilling, Harry How, Dan Burke, Walter Bramman. L.C. Enearl sang several selections at the funeral accompanied by Mrs. A. J. Comito. Flower ladies were Mrs. Arthur Hickman and Mrs. Warren True. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.
