Mrs. Sina Bollete Jorgensen Nelsen 1890-1948
Sina Bollette Jorgensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Jorgensen, was born Sept 1, 1890, at Denmark. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of Denmark.
On March 10, 1916 she was united in marriage to Fred Nelsen at Vejle, Denmark. To this union was born seven children who all live to mourn her passing.
Mr. Nelsen came to this country in 1921, and Mrs. Nelson followed with their four children in 1923. They settled near Walnut and have lived in this community ever since.
Mrs. Nelsen suffered ill health about eight years, and passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Oct 4, 1948. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, seven children: Chris, Henry, Walter, Niels, and Howard all of Avoca; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Samuels of Monroe, California and Mrs. Lillian Flaherty of Council Bluffs; one brother, Nels of Avoca, and three sisters and three brothers in Denmark; ten grandchildren besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the English Lutheran church of Avoca on Wednesday, Oct. 6 with the Reverend Alfred V. Andersen officiating. Songs for the services were sung by Ruby and Wesley Andersen accompanied by Mrs. Myrtle Bauer
