Arthur Rock
(September 29, 1896 - March 1, 1922)

Arthur Rock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Rock, who live southwest of Avoca, died Wednesday morning, March 1, aged twenty-five years and five months. The funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church Saturday, March 4 at 2 o’clock.

About two weeks ago Mr. Rock was taken to the Swedish Mission hospital in Omaha for an operation for appendicitis. His condition was unfavorable for an operation at that time as he had a severe cold. Tuesday an operation was performed, and he seemingly rallied, but Wednesday night he took a turn for the worse and died in a few hours.

He leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Arthur Rock was a very popular young man in the community, held in the highest esteem by all who knew him.
