George Hahmann 1890-1918

George Edward Hahmann was born at Avoca, Iowa, December 10, 1890 and departed this life at the home of his mother on Saturday morning at nine o’clock, November 2, 1918, aged 27 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

When a young man he united with the Methodist church at Omaha. For several years he has been a clerk at different stores in Avoca. At the time of his death he was employed by the Rock Island R.R.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his mother Mrs. Maggie Hahmann of Avoca besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

For several years George Hahmann clerked in the clothing store of G.W. Preston. He proved a pleasing and a very accommodating clerk and made a host of friends. His sudden death will be a shock and deeply regretted by all his friends.

The funeral was held November 25, 1918. The services were held at the cemetery where Rev. Bliese read the burial services and made remarks.

The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved mother.
