Avoca Father, son Killed in Kansas

Avoca—Two Avocans were instantly killed in an automobile collision near Langley, Kansas. The family was notified here but no particulars were given as to the cause of the accient.
The dead are William Alpine, 40, son of Henry alpine of Avoca, and William alpine Jr., 6, son of the former. Riding in the car was Mrs. William alpine, who suffered a fractured hip and other severe bruises and was taken to a hospital. Their daughter, Betty Jean, 14, escaped uninjured.
The bodies will be brought to Avoca and funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Chrisinger funeral home. Burial in Avoca with the Rev. A. Shue officiating.
Mr. Alpine leaves besides his widow and daughter, his father, Henry Alpine of Avoca, two brothers, Henry Jr., and Darwin of Avoca; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Lewis, Mrs. Irene Lewis and Norma Alpine, all of Avoca, and Mrs. Lillie Kistler of Browntowne, Illinois.
Mrs. William Alpine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Briggs of Avoca.
Mr. Alpine has been employed at Langley, Kansas during the summer, but established his home at Avoca.
