Walter Plautz 1901-1920

Walter Plautz was born at Avoca, Iowa, December 20, 1901 and passed away at his home in Avoca July 23, 1920 aged 18 years, 7 months, and 3 days, after a brief illness following an operation for appendicitis.

Walter was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Plautz, his father having passed away several years ago. H spent all his life in and around Avoca. A few weeks ago he was operated upon for appendicitis, from which he recovered nicely and was able to return home. In a few days he began to grow worse and Friday, July 23, he passed away surrounded by his mother, brother, and sisters who did everything kind and loving hands could do, for his comfort was unavailing.

The funeral was held Sunday, July 25, at two o’clock from the Lutheran church and the remains laid to rest in the family lot beside his father in the Avoca cemetery.

The family has the sympathy of the community in their hour of trial.
