Frank Bogs, Jr 1897-1922
Frank Bogs, Jr., died at the Lord Lister hospital in Omaha Thursday, December 7, 1922, aged twenty-five years, ten months, and four days. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Avoca, Saturday afternoon, December 9, at two o’clock.
Frank Bogs was born February 3, 1897, in Pleasant township, Pottawattamie county, Iowa, and grew to manhood in this vicinity, where he was known as a young man of sterling character and industrious habits. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church in 1912 in a class of twelve. He served in the world war. He was taken ill on Monday with acute appendicitis and was rushed to the hospital at Omaha where an operation was performed. He had contracted a heavy cold, but owing to the fact that the appendix had ruptured an operation was performed. Pneumonia developed and the end came Thursday.
He leaves to mourn,, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bogs, four sisters, Mrs. Albert Rock, Mrs. Sam Nelson, Mrs. Edwin Nelson, and Miss Ricka Bogs besides other relatives and many friends.
The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
