Elizabeth Emma BOOTH
Elizabeth Emma BOOTH passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center in Avoca, IA at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 13 days.
Services were Monday, August 18, at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, IA, with Rev. Donna EWERT. Congregational United Church of Christ, Harlan officiating.
Casket bearers were Rich STUHR, Brad HAYNER, Dix SCRANTON, Dan MANHART and Paul STUHR. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery in Minden, IA.
Elizabeth Emma BOOTH, daughter of Emil William and Emma Christina (PIEPER) STUHR, was born February 23, 1918 in Minden, graduating from Tennant High School in 1936 and from Nebraska Methodist Hospital in 1941. She practiced nursing at the Red Oak hospital, later spending many years as a nurse at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
On October 5, 1968 Elizabeth married Nathaniel Pierce BOOTH in Harlan; he died April 30, 1977 in Carroll, IA.
Elizabeth was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Harlan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nathaniel; and an infant brother.
She is survived by brother Robert E. (Betty) STUHR of Shelby, IA; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives and friends.
