Marlene S. NIELSEN of Harlan, IA passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the age of 74 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, IA.
Marlene was born September 7, 1933 in Harrison Co., IA to Harry and Agnes (BAKER) SIMMONS.
She married Elvin Leroy NIELSEN and raised seven children in the rural Oakland and Hancock, IA areas. She worked for Jennie Edmundson Hospital for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and Elvin Leroy NIELSEN.
Marlene is survived by her children, Les NIELSEN and wife LaVaughn, Pam REED and husband Stan, Cheryl OLOFF and husband Lyle, Deb CALHOON and husband Jeff, Gene NIELSEN, Dave NIELSEN and wife Michelle, Jayne RIGGS and husband JEFF; 14 grandchildren, Luke, Daren, Eric, Bo, Tracy, Drew, Jamie, Nick, Jesse, Dana, Justin, Jordan, Ross, Lauren and Joanna; one great-grandchild, Peyton; brother Merle SIMMONS and wife Mariann; niece Marsha, nephew Mark and many friends.
