Bernice Maude, daughter of John W. and Ida K. Rounds was born at Hancock, Iowa, July 14, 1901 and departed this life at the Jennie Edmunds Hospital, Sunday, April 29, 1933, at the age of thirty two years, nine months, and twenty five days.

Her early life was lived in Pottawattamie County and in the year 1925 she was united in marriage to Richard F. Scott. To this union were born three sons, Richard Newton, Burl Edwin, and Cecil Max. Following their marriage she and her husband moved to the present home two miles west of Macedonia. Here she resided until called by death to her heavenly home. Her death came suddenly caused from complications of measles.

She was a dutiful daughter, a loving devoted wife and affectionate mother. A good sister, a helpful neighbor and a true friend. She leaves to mourn her early demise, the loving husband and children, father, John W. Rounds of Neola, three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Cleaveland, of Alliance, Nebraska, Mrs. Mildren Buffington and Mrs. Lola Tooley of Glenwood; seven brothers, Harold of Council Bluffs, John of Glenwood, Sanford of Clarinda, Edward of Macedonia, Robert, LaVern and Kenneth of Neola; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Macedonia, Wednesday May 2, conducted by Rev P.H. Green of Oakland. Favorite hymns were sung by familiar voices. Pallbearers were LaVerne, John Jr. Robert and Edward Rounds. Ward and Archie School. Interment was in Macedonia.
